Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering, Sawyerpuram, successfully inaugurated the Industry–Academia Training Program on Data Analytics for Final Year Students in collaboration with ICT Academy and Infosys Foundation. The initiative is designed to equip students with industry-relevant knowledge and practical skills, thereby enhancing their employability in the rapidly evolving technology sector.
The inaugural programme was held in the presence of Mr. N. Jeyakumar Santhosh, Correspondent, and Dr. J. Japhynth, Principal, who emphasized the institution’s commitment to providing quality technical education and fostering strong industry–academia partnerships that prepare students for successful careers.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Poornaprakash V, Deputy General Manager – State Head, Tamil Nadu, ICT Academy, who delivered the keynote address. He highlighted the growing significance of Data Analytics across industries, the increasing demand for skilled professionals, and the importance of continuous learning to remain competitive in the digital era. He encouraged students to make the best use of the training programme to strengthen their technical competencies and improve their career prospects.
As part of the programme, Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering was also recognized as a Center of Excellence for Youth Empowerment under the Infosys Foundation Finishing School for Employability, implemented by ICT Academy. This recognition reflects the institution’s continued dedication to nurturing industry-ready graduates through outcome-based learning and skill development initiatives.
The Industry–Academia Training Program will provide students with hands-on exposure to Data Analytics concepts, enabling them to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. Through this collaborative initiative, the college continues to reinforce its vision of empowering students with future-ready skills and creating greater employment opportunities in the technology sector.
