Sawyerpuram, 7 August 2026: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) of Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering, Sawyerpuram, inaugurated SPECTRA’26, a National-Level Tech & Non-Tech Symposium, along with the SPECTRA Students’ Parliament for the academic year 2026–2027, on 7 August 2026 at the College Auditorium.
The programme was graced by Mrs. C. Sofia Selvarani, Founder-cum-Principal, D. Little Public School, as the Guest of Honour. She addressed the gathering and encouraged students to develop their technical knowledge, creativity, leadership skills, and confidence.
Mr. N. Jeyakumar Santhosh, Chief Patron and Correspondent, delivered the Presidential Address, while Dr. J. Japhynth, Patron and Principal, delivered the Inaugural Address.
The newly constituted SPECTRA Students’ Parliament for 2026–2027 was formally introduced, with student representatives taking up their respective responsibilities. Selva Pandi S., President; Sathya S., Vice-President; K. Rishvan, Secretary; M. Harini, Additional Secretary; M. Ragavan R., Joint Secretary; and Rakshana K., Treasurer, along with other student representatives, were part of the Students’ Parliament.
The event was coordinated by Mrs. G. J. Ananthi, AP/ECE and Coordinator; Mrs. S. Jenita Roobavathi, AP/ECE and Event Director; and Mrs. S. Selvarathi Ponmalar, HoD/ECE and Event Superintendent.
The inauguration marked the beginning of SPECTRA’26, bringing together students for a vibrant platform of technical innovation, creativity, knowledge sharing, leadership, and healthy competition. The programme was attended enthusiastically by the faculty members and students of the Department of ECE.
