Sawyerpuram, 25 August 2026:
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering, Sawyerpuram, inaugurated its Department Students’ Association, “VIRUS ’26”, for the academic year 2026–2027 on 25 August 2026 at the College Auditorium.
Mr. Giftson S, Manager I, Operations – Senior Cloud Solution Architect at Concentrix, was the Guest of Honour. He addressed the students and shared valuable insights from the industry, encouraging them to enhance their technical skills and prepare themselves for emerging opportunities in the field of technology.
Mr. N. Jeyakumar Santhosh, Chief Patron and Correspondent of the College, delivered the Presidential Address, while Dr. J. Japhynth, Principal and Patron, delivered the Inaugural Address.
The event was coordinated by the faculty members of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the students. The newly formed Students’ Association aims to provide students with opportunities to develop their technical knowledge, leadership skills, teamwork and professional capabilities through various academic and co-curricular activities.
The programme concluded with a note of appreciation and best wishes for the successful functioning of VIRUS ’26 throughout the academic year.
