Sawyerpuram, 11 August 2026: An Anti-Drug Awareness Programme was organised at Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering, Sawyerpuram, by the NSS, NCC and YRC volunteers, with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Mrs. N. Jayanthi, Inspector of Police, Sawyerpuram, graced the programme as the Chief Guest and Speaker. She addressed the students on the dangers of drug abuse, its impact on individuals and society, and the importance of making responsible choices to stay away from drugs.
The programme encouraged students to understand the serious consequences of substance abuse and inspired them to become responsible ambassadors for a drug-free society.
The programme was actively participated in by students and volunteers, who took part in the awareness activities and reaffirmed their commitment to staying away from drugs.
