Thoothukudi: Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering, Sawyerpuram, observed National Voluntary Blood Donation Day 2026 by highlighting its contribution to voluntary blood donation initiatives. The college donated 61 units of blood through voluntary blood donation camps conducted during 2025.

As part of the event, the college was honoured for its contribution to voluntary blood donation in support of the Government Medical College and Government Hospital Blood Banks, Thoothukudi district.

The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian service, encouraging students and the public to recognise the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives.

The programme reinforced the message, “One Drop, Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives,” inspiring the spirit of voluntary service and community welfare.

The college management expressed its appreciation to the volunteers and everyone who contributed to the blood donation initiatives.
