Sawyerpuram, 31 August 2026: Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering, Sawyerpuram, organised “FreshWave Aura ’26 – Freshers’ Day 2026” on 31 August 2026 at the college auditorium to warmly welcome the 2026–2030 batch of new students and their parents.
The programme was organised under the theme “New Wave • New Vibes • New Beginnings”, marking the beginning of a new academic journey for the first-year students.
Dr. S. Ravichandran, D.Litt. (USA), Memory Technologist and Motivational Speaker, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring address to the students. Mrs. R. Hepsiba Beula, M.A., B.Ed., M.Phil., Headmistress, St. Mary’s Girls Higher Secondary School, Sawyerpuram, was the Guest of Honour.
The programme commenced with prayer and blessing by Rev. S. Anand Samuel John Thomas, Pastorate Chairman, Sawyerpuram. The dignitaries welcomed the new students and encouraged them to make the most of their college life through learning, innovation, discipline and active participation.
Dr. J. Japhynth, Principal, and Mr. N. Jeyakumar Santhosh, Correspondent, extended their greetings and best wishes to the new batch. Dr. M. Vijayalakshmi, HoD/SAH, along with the faculty members and students, supported the successful conduct of the celebration.
The Freshers’ Day celebration concluded on a joyful note, creating a memorable and welcoming beginning for the 2026–2030 batch as they stepped into a new wave of possibilities at Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering.
