A Grand Success of “Spectra’24” A National Level Technical Symposium (04 Oct, 2024)

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) of Dr. G.U. Pope College of Engineering hosted ‘Spectra ’24’, a National Level Technical Symposium, on October 4, 2024, at the college auditorium. The event commenced with an opening prayer by Rev. Manohar, Chairman of Sawyerpuram Pastorate, invoking blessings for the success of the symposium.

The welcome address was delivered by Mrs. S. Selvarathi Ponmalar, Head of the ECE Department, who warmly greeted all dignitaries, participants, and attendees. She expressed her appreciation for the collaborative spirit and active participation from students and faculty across institutions, highlighting the importance of such technical events in fostering innovation and knowledge exchange.

The symposium was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Japhynth, in her inaugural address. She emphasized the significance of technical education in today’s rapidly advancing world and urged students to take full advantage of such platforms to showcase their talents and learn from their peers. The Correspondent, Thiru. R. Rajesh Ravichandar, delivered the presidential address, encouraging students to embrace opportunities for learning and collaboration in their respective fields

The event featured a series of technical competitions, including paper presentations, project exhibitions, circuit design challenges, and a technical quiz. A total of 155 students from various colleges participated, engaging in activities that tested their knowledge and skills in electronics and communication engineering. The competitions were judged by Mrs. Jasmine Xavier, ASP/ECE at JACSI College of Engineering, whose expertise ensured fair and insightful evaluations.

In addition to the competitions, the symposium saw active participation from heads of various departments, faculty members, students, and well-wishers of the college. The event served as an excellent platform for students to exchange ideas and explore new technological innovations.

In her closing remarks, Mrs. S. Jenita Roobavathi, AP/ ECE , expressed her heartfelt thanks to the organizing committee, participants, and faculty for their efforts in making ‘Spectra ’24’ a resounding success. She also extended her gratitude to the college management for their unwavering support in facilitating the symposium.

Mr. J. Swinglin Jeevadurai, AP/ECE, Event Director, played a pivotal role in coordinating the symposium, ensuring that all activities ran smoothly and that participants had a positive experience. His leadership and organizational skills contributed significantly to the event’s success.

‘Spectra ’24’ concluded on a positive note, with participants and organizers alike commending the event’s seamless execution and valuable learning opportunities. The symposium succeeded in fostering a spirit of technical excellence and collaboration among the engineering community.
