Sawyerpuram, 27 August 2026: The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) of Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering, Sawyerpuram, organised the inauguration of AMPS’ 2026 – National-Level Tech & Non-Tech Symposium on 27 August 2026 at the College Auditorium.
The symposium, themed “Meet for Progress & Synergy,” was organised to provide students with a platform to showcase their technical knowledge, creativity, innovation and skills through various technical and non-technical activities.
Er. S. Jebas Sam, Assistant Engineer / Distribution, TNPDC(L) / Arumuganeri (TNEB), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering. He shared valuable insights and encouraged students to enhance their technical competencies and prepare themselves for the evolving demands of the engineering profession.
The programme was presided over by Mr. N. Jeyakumar Santhosh, Correspondent, Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering, who delivered the Presidential Address. Dr. J. Japhynth, Principal, delivered the Inaugural Address and motivated the students to actively participate in academic and co-curricular activities.
Mrs. S. Ananthi, Head of the Department of EEE, and Mr. S. Pon Jegadeesh, AP/EEE and Association Coordinator, along with the faculty members and students of the department, coordinated the event.
The inauguration marked the beginning of an engaging symposium aimed at fostering innovation, collaboration, healthy competition and professional development among students.
