20 Sept 2024 : The Dr. G U Pope College of Engineering recently celebrated the inauguration of its departmental student associations, marking a significant milestone in the college’s academic and leadership development journey.
The event began with an opening prayer led by Rev. Manohar, Chairman of the Sawyerpuram Pastorate, followed by the introduction of the newly elected student president and secretary. This set an inspiring tone for the occasion as students from all departments shared their excitement and insights.
The Chief Guest, Professor B. William Dharma Raja, Chairperson of the School of Education and Head of the Department of Education at Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, delivered a thought-provoking address. His words encouraged students to harness their potential and contribute actively to their academic and extracurricular pursuits.
In his presidential address, the Correspondent, Thiru R. Rajesh Ravichandar, underscored the vital role of student leadership in fostering innovation and driving academic excellence. The Principal, Dr. J. Japhynth, congratulated the students on their efforts and provided guidance on effectively managing the associations, promoting both collaboration and leadership.
A highlight of the event was the release of “Spectronix” Volume-3 by the Electronics and Communication Engineering department, and the launch of “Meshals”, a newsletter by the Mechanical Engineering department. These publications showcased the students’ creative and technical achievements, reflecting the spirit of innovation at the college.
The event concluded with enthusiastic participation from all Heads of Departments (HODs), well-wishers, and distinguished guests, marking a new chapter in student-led initiatives and collaborative efforts at Dr. G U Pope College of Engineering.
