MECHALS ’26 – National-Level Symposium to Be Held at Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering

Sawyerpuram: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering, Sawyerpuram, successfully conducted MECHALS ’26, a National-Level Symposium, on 28 August 2026 at the college campus.

The symposium witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various Engineering, Arts & Science, Polytechnic, ITI and B.Ed. institutions. The event provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their technical knowledge, creativity, innovation and problem-solving abilities.

The symposium featured a wide range of technical events, including Paper Presentation, CAD Modelling, Technical Quiz, Business Plan, Project Expo and Connection. Various non-technical events, such as Moto Stunt, Photography, E-Sports, Logo Design, Fireless Cooking and Art from Waste, also attracted active participation from students.

A special Project Expo was conducted for college students, with ₹3,000 awarded for the First Prize and ₹2,000 for the Second Prize, encouraging students to present innovative projects and ideas.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr. J. Japhynth, Principal and Patron, and Mr. N. Jeyakumar Santhosh, Correspondent and Chief Patron, with the support of Dr. S. Tennison, HoD–Mechanical Engineering and Event Superintendent, faculty members and student coordinators.

The successful conduct of MECHALS ’26 highlighted the institution’s commitment to nurturing technical excellence, innovation, creativity and industry-oriented skills among students. The event concluded on a positive note with active participation and appreciation from the participating institutions.
