Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering, Sawyerpuram, celebrated its 16th Graduation Day with great solemnity and pride at the College Auditorium on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
The graduation ceremony was presided over by Justice Dr. P. Jyothimani, Administrator, CSI – Thoothukudi Nazareth Diocese, who led the proceedings and distributed degrees to the graduating students. In his address, he congratulated the graduates and emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, and service to society, urging them to uphold ethical values in their professional and personal lives.
The function was graced by several dignitaries, including Judge N. Retnaraj, Election Officer I, CSI Thoothukudi Nazareth Diocese; Judge John R. D. Santosham, Election Officer II, CSI–TND and Correspondent, Dr. G. U. Pope College of Engineering; Mr. M. Anbar Doss, Financial Advisor; Dr. J. Gabriel Devarakkam, Office Manager, Diocesan Office; and Dr. (Mrs.) V. Rama, Correspondent, CSI–TND Girls Schools (HSS).
Delivering the welcome address, the Principal, Dr. J. Japhynth, highlighted the academic achievements of the institution and encouraged students to become responsible professionals contributing positively to the nation. Degrees were conferred on students from various engineering disciplines in a dignified academic setting.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a memorable milestone in the academic journey of the graduating class and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to excellence in technical education.
